IJM’s Menara Prudential pioneers Malaysia’s first AI-powered security robots

24 March 2025 IJM Group

KUALA LUMPUR, 24 March 2025 – IJM Corporation Berhad (“IJM” or “the Group”) has introduced AI-
powered security robots at its Menara Prudential, making it one of the first commercial buildings in
Malaysia to deploy this cutting-edge security technology. These robots will enhance security operations
within Menara Prudential, reinforcing its position as a smart and future-ready building.

IJM is setting a new benchmark for safety and efficiency in building management, with appointed
security provider Securight Sdn Bhd implementing the AI-driven solution, while property manager
Knight Frank Malaysia oversees its performance for seamless integration and effectiveness.

Advancing Building Security with AI

Equipped with high-definition cameras, advanced sensors, and AI-driven analytics, the robots
autonomously patrol Menara Prudential, detect security risks, and provide real-time alerts for rapid
response. Operating 24/7, they enhance surveillance capabilities, eliminate blind spots, and
complement human security personnel by increasing operational efficiency and response times.

“Our adoption of AI-powered security robots reflects IJM’s commitment to leveraging technology to
enhance operational efficiency and security standards in our properties,” said Dato’ Lee Chun Fai,
Group CEO & Managing Director of IJM Corporation Berhad. “This initiative is not just about upgrading
security—it is about redefining how smart technology can improve safety and enhance the experience
for tenants and visitors.”

Knight Frank Malaysia, the property manager of Menara Prudential, has been instrumental in integrating
these advanced technologies. The firm has been recognised for its excellence in property management
and continues to play a key role in maintaining the building’s high standards. Additionally, Menara
Prudential was awarded Gold in The Edge Malaysia’s Best Managed & Sustainable Property Awards
2022, underscoring the building’s commitment to exceptional management and sustainability practices.

Sarkunan Subramaniam, Chairman of Knight Frank Malaysia, added, “The integration of robotics into
property management represents a transformative step toward the future of smart buildings. IJM’s
initiative in piloting the Co-Lab Indoor Security Robot at Menara Prudential showcases how technology
can enhance efficiency, security, and sustainability. As property managers, we are committed to
supporting this advancement while ensuring seamless integration into daily operations.”

Smarter Security, Enhanced Efficiency

Beyond surveillance, the AI security robots integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure, including
CCTV, access control, and emergency response systems, creating an intelligent security network. Their
deployment allows security teams to focus on higher-value tasks such as incident response and data
analysis, optimising manpower while improving overall security effectiveness.

As the adoption of smart technology accelerates globally, this initiative sets a new industry standard for
commercial buildings in Malaysia and beyond.

Strategic Collaboration for Future-Ready Security

IJM’s collaboration with Securight Sdn Bhd has been instrumental in implementing this AI-driven
security framework.

“We are proud to collaborate with IJM on this pioneering project,” said Narinder Singh, Managing
Director of Securight Sdn Bhd. “Our AI-powered robots not only enhance security but also provide a
cost-effective and efficient solution. This partnership underscores our shared vision of delivering
advanced, future-proof security services.”

Shaping the Future of Smart Buildings

As the first commercial building in Malaysia to deploy AI-powered security robots, IJM is at the forefront
of integrating smart technologies into urban infrastructure. This initiative aligns with the global shift
towards automation in building management, reinforcing sustainability efforts through optimised
resource usage and manpower allocation.
