Kuala Lumpur, 25 July 2021 – As Malaysia’s Covid-19 vaccination drive continues to gain momentum, IJM Corporation Bhd (“IJM” or “the Group”) launched a programme recently to help its employees and their immediate family members as well as construction supply chain get vaccinated against the virus.

More than one thousand vaccine recipients received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at IJM’s Mobile Vaccination Programme. The programme was held at the DUKE R&R Tol Segambut-RFID Fitment Centre, Lebuhraya Duke, Segambut, which has been converted into a vaccination centre under the Federal Territories Ministry’s MYMedic@Wilayah Vaccine Mobile Truck initiative.

Held over two days, the vaccination drive was organised in collaboration with JKG Land Berhad and #OpsHarapan, a relief aid organisation run by volunteers. Through this initiative, IJM was also able to also sponsor 200 vaccination slots for the community, on top of sponsoring the cost of vaccinations for employees across its business divisions and its construction supply chain.

The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to support the national vaccination initiative and its commitment to protecting the health, safety and well-being of its workforce.

“We are committed to doing the right thing for our employees and vaccination is the best way to combat the pandemic. The faster we achieve high vaccination rates, the sooner our communities and economies can start to recover,” said Mr. Liew Hau Seng, CEO & Managing Director, IJM Corporation Berhad.

“As a group with diversified businesses, vaccination protection is crucial for our employees and supply chain. We recognise the challenges faced by our workforce during the pandemic and vaccine enrolment is a viable step to prepare us for the reopening of all our operations when permitted,” he added.

“We are encouraged by the positive response for this programme. I would like to thank IJM volunteers who showed up to help out and to ensure the operations run smoothly at the vaccination centre.”

From the very beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, IJM has consistently invested in employee safety and well- being – from enhancing safety measures across its operations to offering vaccination medical leave for employees to recover from symptoms.
