The Eastern Industrial Corridor, a government - backed economic region, has been envisioned by the Federal Government of Malaysia to be developed into an ultra-modern industrial region servicing the petrochemical and chemical manufacturing industries. It covers the states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

The Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP) is located at the Kuantan Port City in the East Coast Economic Region Special Economic Zone. A strategic location, as Kuantan Port offers the fastest route to the major ports of China.
The park was officially opened for business investment on 5 February 2013. MCKIP is expected to attract investment commitments by various industries to set up their plants. Spearheaded by the Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), the MCKIP would increase bilateral trade between Malaysia and China due to its given status as the sister park to the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (QIP) located in China.
IJM Land Berhad has 315 hectares of land to develop in Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park(MCKIP) and 281 hectares in MCKIP II. IJM Land has 60 percent share in MCKIP II thus allowing it to venture into the industrial development so as to capitalise on Kuantan Port expansion and enhance its overall performance.

Pekan Automotive Park(PAP), the automotive hub located near Kuantan, is focused on being a high value-added manufacturing sector with the establishment of a Research & Development Centre and the National Automotive Testing Centre. The PAP consist of Europe’s largest auto maker-Volkswagen in a joint-venture with DRB-HICOM Sdn Bhd. The Hicom Automotive Manufacturers (M) Sdn Bhd (HAMM) in Pekan is made up of 98.7 hectares of land, catering for automotive related industry such as:-
