The Group has established in each of its factories a laboratory for quality control on in-coming raw materials and for monitoring the quality of the finished products. Being independent from the production department, the quality control department provides a useful check on the end products and the quality control at every stage of the production processes.

As a testimony of its quality management system, ICP is the first PC piles manufacturer in Malaysia to have obtained the ISO 9001 certification in 1992 for its plant located in Prai Industrial Estate, Penang and subsequently for all its other factories. Under ISO 9001 certification, regular internal quality audits are conducted to ensure that the quality management system is continuously maintained, improved and upgraded.

In year 2012, all ICP factories have been upgraded to the new quality management system ISO 9001:2008 certification issued by SIRIM QAS International and IQNet Association.

In providing better work places for ICP staff in respect of health, safety and environment, ICP had embarked on HSE management system in compliance with ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. The HSE Management System in ICP HQ and Nilai factory had been certified by SIRIM QAS International in May 2012. The HSE management system will be certified by SIRIM QAS International to the rest of ICP workplaces in near future.

The HSE implementation demonstrates ICP dedication and commitment towards safeguarding the people as well as protecting the environment.

In compliance to MS 1314:2004 in standard design and manufacturing practices, ICP piles are certified by IKRAM QA Services Sdn Bhd under product certification. This certificate covers pile bending strength tests, dimensional and material specification conformances.

ICP had also embarked on new certification in compliance with SS EN standards for Singapore or equivalent market in Year 2010. ICP factories located at Klang, Kapar, Nilai, Lumut and Senai had been certified by Singapore Accreditation Council under BCA Singapore Ready-Mixed Concrete Product Certification Scheme in compliance to SS EN 206-1:2009; SS 544:Part 1 & 2:2009; and SAC CT 06:2011.

The research and development laboratory is granted certificate of Accreditation (SAMM 200) under the scope of calibration of dimension and mass measurements in year 2000 by Standards Malaysia.

In line with new migration to BS EN standards for concrete applications, the laboratory had achieved new scopes of testing including aggregate testing and concrete compression tests respectively in year 2010 and 2011. Additional scopes of testing such as tensile test, pH test and dry material content test shall be added in the near future.

Since 8th October 2010, the laboratory is granted ILAC Laboratory Combined MRA Mark by Standards Malaysia that signifies all test reports and calibration certificates issued by the laboratory are recognized internationally.
