IJM Scholarship Award
Presentation Ceremony
The annual award
presentation ceremony was held at Head Office to award the IJM
Scholarship Award 2006, as part of its CSR effort, to nine bright
students pursuing degrees in various fields from different local
universities. Each recipient received RM10,000 per academic semester. To
qualify, these scholars have to fulfil the requirement of obtaining good
STPM/Matriculation grades, an active record in extra co-curricular
activities and a strong command in English.

Student Site Study Tour to PJ8
Another group of
students and lecturers, 17 in total, were given a study tour around the
development of PJ8 – set to become one of PJ’s iconic landmarks. Study
tours such as these are part of its CSR role to the community by
educating and sharing its construction know-how’s with undergraduates.

A corporate roadshow
was held in Singapore in which IJM was invited
to share on its business operations and present synergistic
opportunities to bankers and investors alike.

Study Tour to PJ8
A group of over 30,
comprising students and lecturers, were given an irresistible
opportunity to study the construction of IJM Properties Sdn Bhd’s iconic
project – PJ8. The development will herald the tallest landmark in PJ
upon completion, coupled with modernistic facilities and security
features – ideal for both living and working lifestyles.

The annual dialogue
was hosted at Avillion Hotel, Port Dickson, attended by the Group’s
Board of Directors, senior management & project managers. The dialogue
presents & discusses the Group’s plans & strategies for the future.

visits IJM
A group of students
and faculty members from the National Academy of Construction,
Hyderabad,
India, visited
IJM Head Office and toured IJM project sites (KLCC Luxury Condominium &
Bank of Commerce, KL). The students were on a study tour to as to
understand infrastructural technicalities in construction.

IJM Annual Dinner &
Dance 2006
This year’s theme,
“Simply the Best”, saw the Dinner nothing short of “Simply the Best”
ranging from entertainment to dining, from the awards & prizes give-away
to the staff performance (it was the first time such a performance was
held in which 3 divisions had a friendly competition for top slot). A
total of 1,200 staff of IJM attended the Dinner held at the Sunway
Lagoon Resort Hotel.

Staff’s Visit to IJM Head Office
The Group’s overseas
venture, IJM (India) Infrastructure Limited,
visited IJM Head Office. it was the largest group of staff (15 in total)
from within the IJM family to tour around the office and inspected
several IJM project sites.

Visit by Pakistani
Delegates
A group of Pakistani
government officials, led by City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, paid a visit
to IJM Head Office to hold preliminary rounds of discussions on
Karachi Elevated Highway in Pakistan. It is the guests’
inaugural visit to IJM Head Office and signifies prospective business
opportunities for the Group.

An agreement was
concluded by IJM Plantations Berhad and CTI Biofuels of the United States to build, own and operate a
biodiesel plant in Sandakan,
Sabah
for the manufacture and sale of biodiesel on a 60:40 joint venture
basis.

Visit by Chairman of
National Highway Authority of Pakistan to IJM Corporation Berhad
A group of
6 delegates,
headed by Major Gen. Farrukh Javed, Chairman, National Highway Authority
("NHA") of Pakistan visited Malaysia to invite Malaysian contractors to
participate in the construction development projects in Pakistan.
The invitation was extended to NHA by the Construction Industry
Development Board ("CIDB") of Malaysia. The
group made a visit to
IJM Corporation
Berhad as the Company is a member of the CIDB led consortium to
participate in the M4 Motorway from Faizalabad to Multan in Pakistan.

World Corporate Golf
Challenge (WCGC) Malaysia 2006 – Press Launch
For the
first time, IJM is proud to be one of the main sponsors for the
prestigious WCGC Malaysia 2006. A press launch was held to commemorate
this history-making event which also sees Malaysia hosting the final round
of the five-leg challenge. IJM, represented by Chairman, Y. Bhg. Tan Sri
Dato' Ir. (Dr) Wan Abdul Rahman Bin Wan Yaacob, was present to hand over
the mock cheque to Margaret Yip, Chief Executive of WCGC Malaysia. IJM’s
league, named the “IJM Corporate Golf Challenge 2006” will tee off on
March 5 at the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.
