Launching of IJM Safety
& Health Campaign Month 2005
The IJM Safety & Health Campaign Month 2005 was launched by YB
Datuk Abdul Rahman Bin Bakar, Deputy Minister of Human Resources, Malaysia
at the Menara Commerce site, Kuala Lumpur. Over 200 guests were present to
witness the event. The month-long campaign is organized to increase safety
and health awareness amongst staff at all levels and sub-contractors.

Senior Management Dialogue 2005
The Senior Management Dialogue 2005 was held at the Classics Ballroom,
Holiday Villa, Subang Jaya. The Board of Directors’ and Managers
attended this annual event where operational review and management
strategies were presented and discussed.

IJM Scholarship Awards 2005
Our Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Wan
Abdul Rahman presented the awards to our new scholars. This year, a
total of 6 scholars were selected, with 4 majoring in Civil Engineering, 1
in Mechanical Engineering and 1 in Quantity Surveying.

Board Room
Finance® for Directors
A Board Room Finance programme was arranged on 28 June 2005 at the
Conference Room, HQ. A total of 26 Directors and Senior Managers
from our Group, including IJM Corporation Berhad, Industries Concrete
Products Berhad and IJM Plantations Berhad attended the programme.
The speaker was Mr Kenny Tay from the Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants (CIMA) who gave an insight of the key financial issues at
board level to all participants.

Visit by members of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)
A group of 5 delegates,
headed by Mr. R. K. Mina, Engineer-in-Chief of MCD visited IJM's HQ. The
group was on a
technical visit after
IJM has been awarded a
RM474 million contract to construct a civic centre project in New Delhi,
India.
The group gathered at the Conference Room at Wisma IJM at 10am and was
briefed by Mr. Soo Heng Chin, Senior General Manager and Executive
Director of IJM. Later, a corporate profile video presentation of IJM and
ICP was screened. Throughout the screening, Mr. Soo and Mr. Ng Chin
Meng gave crisp intermittent explanations.
After the screening, a group photograph was taken where both sides
exchanged gifts of appreciation. The group was then brought to the Sales &
Marketing Showroom at Ground Floor of Wisma IJM where Mr. Teh Kean Ming
explained the current PJ Eight project underway and its prospects.
The delegates then adjourned for Riana Green Condo project site to review
its progress. They will be visiting several other projects sites before
leaving for India on 22 June 2005.

Terengganu Industry Construction Showcase (TCIS) 2005
Insitu Envirotech (M) Sdn Bhd; the wholly-owned subsidiary of IJM
Construction Sdn Bhd, participated in the recent Terengganu
Industry Construction Showcase 'TCIS 2005' which was held at the
Terengganu Trade Center. The event was officiated by YAB Dato' Seri Haji
Idris Jusoh,
Menteri Besar Terengganu. To witness the event was YB Dato' Seri S.Samy
Vellu, Minister of Works, Malaysia.
The four-day event introduced new ideas
on perspective, concept, technology and product in the area of
Terengganu's construction industry.

PJ eight Press Conference
A Press Conference for PJ eight Project was
held at IJM Properties Sdn Bhd, Sales & Marketing Showroom, Ground Floor,
Wisma IJM, Jalan Yong Shook Lin, 46050 Petaling Jaya.
10 media representatives and some of IJM's senior managers attended the
conference.
IJM
Properties Sdn Bhd
has teamed up with Mega First Corp Bhd to develop a RM250 million mixed
project in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, over a three-year period. PJ
eight comprises four blocks of buildings; a 12-storey office suite, two
blocks of 13- and 17-storey office towers and a 39-storey service suite.
The entire development will have more than 1,100 parking bays.

Bursa
Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) in collaboration with Commerce
International Merchant Bankers (CIMB) and Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB)
organised ‘Invest Malaysia 2005’, an international investor conference for
foreign and local fund managers, institutional investors and analysts. The
conference was launched by YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Prime
Minister of Malaysia, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Our CEO & MD Dato’ Krishnan Tan
made a company presentation at the conference.

A Trust Deed and Facility Agreement signing ceremony was held
at PJ Hilton, Petaling Jaya
between
IJM Corporation Bhd and Commerce International Merchant Bankers &
AmMerchant Bank Berhad in relation to the Issuance of RM300 million
Nominal Value 7-Year Commercial Papers and Medium Term Notes Programme.

The 5th Ministers' Forum Exhibition on Infrastructure Development in the
Asia-Pacific Region 2005
IJM participated in the 5th Ministers’ Forum Exhibition 2005 on
Infrastructure Development in the Asia-Pacific Region officiated by Prime
Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Bin Haji Ahmad Badawi, which was held at the
Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Putrajaya. The two day event
for the Infrastructure Development industry open a new perspective to the
Asia-Pacific Region by focusing on emerging areas and by providing new
marketing opportunities for both regional and international players. |
