Shimizu-Nishimatsu-UEMB-IJM Joint Venture (“Joint Venture”) has
accepted the Letter of Acceptance dated 28 April 2009 from the
Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Malaysia for the
Pahang-Selangor Raw Water Transfer Project, Lot 1-1, Water Transfer
Tunnel and related works at a contract sum of approximately RM1.3
billion. The construction period is 5 years, and the notice to
commence work will be issued to the Joint Venture in due course.
The Joint Venture is a 30:30:20:20 joint venture between Shimizu
Corporation, Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd, UEM Builders Bhd, and
IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the
Company.
None of the Directors or major shareholders of the Company, or
persons connected with them, has any interest, direct or indirect,
in the transaction. |
